Are you open 7 days per week

Yes. We operate 7 days per week, 365 days per year. We may offer a restricted service however between Manly and Middle Harbour when weather conditions are poor. Safety is always paramount at Harbour Water Taxis.

How are fares calculated?

Each fare is calculated buy adding a flag fall cost + $13 per passenger.

For example:

Circular Quay to Watson's Bay for 2 people (Doyle's Restaurant)
Flag fall $55
Passengers 2 x $13 = 26
Total: $55 + $26 = $81

Circular Quay to Watson's Bay for 4 people (Doyle's Restaurant)
Flag fall $55
Passengers 4 x $13 = $52
Total: $55 + $52 = $107

Circular Quay to Rose Bay for 8 people (Catalina Restaurant)
Flag fall $55
Passengers 8 x $13 = $104
Total: $55 + $104 = $159

How many passengers do you carry?

All our vessels take up to 12 passengers and it is against the law to carry additional passengers. Exceptions to this restriction are never permissible, no matter what the circumstances. All water taxis on the harbour must adhere to the strict requirements of NSW Maritime to ensure the safety of passengers and crew of all vessels.

Where can i be picked up and dropped off?

We can pick up and drop off from any wharf or jetty on Sydney Harbour.  Although we are unable to perform beach drop off’s we can go into very shallow waters where other taxi companies cannot go.

Should I book?

Yes, it is always best to book so that you can guarantee taxi availability for your journey, particularly on special days. We always try to accommodate customer needs and can generally respond at short notice if you have been unable to make an advance booking.

Is it best to book a return journey?

Yes. You can book a return journey with your driver and he/she will radio it through to base control. This will ensure that your pick up is scheduled at a time convenient to you. Return journeys can always be brought forward or put back if your plans change by ringing the Affordable Taxi number 0420376968 or VHF Channel 13.

Payments for return journeys are made in advance at the end of your outward journey or as two single each way journeys.

I am part of a large group, can you accommodate us?

Yes. We will provide a shuttle service for larger groups and can offer special rates for maximum value. Call Jonathan for price and availability on 0420376968, Via email info@affordablewatertaxis.com.au or by using VHF channel 13.

Timing

Please be on time for your departure as water taxis cannot wait at jetty's and wharfs for long periods and we may have to leave without you so that we are able to complete other pre booked journeys.
Many water taxis companies have additional charges for waiting time to encourage passenger punctuality.

Important information

Please ensure that board only the taxi that you have booked. At Harbour Water Taxis we take pride in our professional integrity. We do not take passengers who have bookings with other companies and we will always check before boarding whether you have a confirmed booking with us or any other company before we accept your fare as a professional courtesy to our competitors.
